Without generalising, the main difference between the French and the English version of Christmas, we seemed to be this: the family gifts are clearly presented as as in England, so the kids know exactly who to thank, and gifts from Santa Claus are offered at a separate time and are more modest, what to avoid what we hear very often in France, the lists of gifts that children call ... without being aware of who offers what. If we also ask that exists England and we do not find in France:
